SGI-Argentina Holds Autumn Training Sessions
On May 11, 2008, SGI-Argentina leaders met at the SGI-Argentina Peace Auditorium in Buenos Aires. The day's various gatherings commemorated May 3, Soka Gakkai Day. The formation of the Youth Ikeda Vanguard Orchestra was announced and a square adjoining the auditorium was named Youth Square.
SGI-Argentina Arts Division members staged an enactment of the 1957 Yubari Coal Miners Union Incident, in which Soka Gakkai members working in the mines in Hokkaido, Japan, met with fierce opposition from the powerful local union, which initiated a campaign against the Soka Gakkai members. Challenging the constitutionality of the union's actions, the Soka Gakkai members won a victory for the sake of religious freedom.
During a leaders' training session, SGI-Argentina General Director Yo Minagawa encouraged the participants to advance together for the sake of people's happiness everywhere and to build a harmonious organization based on their own personal development.
