SGI-Indonesia Establishes New Chapter in Bali
On March 20, 2008, Soka Gakkai Indonesia (SGI-Indonesia) members gathered in Denpasar, the capital of Bali Province, to celebrate the establishment of a new chapter in Bali, SGI-Indonesia's 30th chapter. Representatives from the country's capital Jakarta as well as eight other countries also attended. Among the guests present were provincial government officials and representatives of the Indonesian National Youth Council. Newly appointed SGI-Indonesia Bali Chapter Leader Sabas Adam shared his determination to build unity among the members and contribute to the peace and prosperity of Bali. Local members performed traditional Bali dances.
From March to July 2007, "Dialogue with Nature," an exhibition of photographs taken by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda, toured 23 cities in Indonesia, including Kuta, Bali. Some 420,000 viewed the traveling exhibit.
