SGI Study Department Leaders' Conference Held in Tokyo
From February 4-7, 2008, the Second SGI Study Department Leaders' Conference was held at the Josei Toda International Center in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Attendees included SGI Study Department Leader Katsuji Saito, Soka Gakkai Study Department Leader Masaaki Morinaka and representative SGI study department leaders. Participants discussed the development of the study of Nichiren Buddhism, including study materials and study exam schedules for 2008. Representatives reported on how they promote study activities in their countries and regions.
At the meeting on February 4, SGI General Director Yoshitaka Ohba spoke about the importance of encouraging individuals to make constant efforts in study, for the development of their faith. Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada attended the final session of the conference on February 7. He thanked the participants for their efforts to promote study in their respective countries and regions and emphasized that the SGI study movement is key to succeeding the global current of Buddhist philosophy for peace and happiness to future generations.
