SGI-Cameroon Holds General Meeting
On December 29, 2007, some 800 SGI-Cameroon members gathered in Edea for a general meeting to usher in 2008, which the SGI has designated the "Year of Capable People and Development." The SGI-Cameroon membership has increased threefold from some 700 to 2,000 in the past four years. In a message, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda expressed his conviction that each SGI member's struggles to be victorious based on a practice of Nichiren Buddhism are the wellspring for the future happiness of people everywhere. At the meeting, leader appointments were announced: Women's Division Chief Rose Helene Eyke Bahamben; and Young Men's Division Chief Salomon Tinna Masso. SGI-Cameroon General Director Claire Dikongue encouraged everyone to advance together with renewed determination.
