SGI Youth in Peru and Ecuador Hold Commemorative Meetings

On July 15, 2007, SGI-Peru young women's division (YWD) members celebrated July 19, YWD Day, at the SGI-Peru Culture Center in Lima. Following a speech by Youth Division Leader Juan Fuentes and members' experiences of practicing Nichiren Buddhism, the young women's fife-and-drum corps performed SGI songs. Vice YWD Leader Nancy Bernuy asked everyone to develop their abilities and become indispensable at their jobs and in all their endeavors.

On the same day, SGI-Ecuador youth division members gathered for a general meeting in Santiago de Guayaquil. YWD Leader Yojain Anchundia and vice leader Nadia Guerrero encouraged the participants to develop an indomitable spirit to win, which is synonymous with the SGI spirit, and to become a driving force for peace. Young Men's Division Leader Rolando Pihuave reminded everyone to challenge every day to manifest actual proof of their Buddhist practice and faith.
