SGI-Sweden Celebrates SGI-Sweden Day; SGI-Switzerland Youth Leaders Meet

On June 3, 2007, SGI-Sweden members celebrated SGI-Sweden Day, which commemorates SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's first visit to their country in 1989. At the gathering at the SGI-Sweden Culture Center in Saltsjöbaden, southeast of Stockholm, film footages of the visit were shown, followed by members' personal accounts of their Buddhist practice and how this has reflected in their activities in society. Commemorative meetings were also held in south Sweden, Göteborg and Gotland Island.

SGI-Switzerland held a national youth leaders training session for 35 representatives on June 9 at the SGI-Switzerland Zurich Center. The group viewed a video of a recent Soka Gakkai leaders' meeting in Tokyo and studied Mr. Ikeda's lecture on the "Opening of the Eyes," one of Nichiren's major writings.
