SGI-Panama Youth Honor Women Members

On May 13, 2007, SGI-Panama youth held a music recital commemorating Soka Gakkai Mothers' Day (May 3). Over 700 SGI-Panama members and their friends enjoyed the musical presentation that paid tribute to the SGI-Panama women. In a message celebrating May 3 Soka Gakkai Day and Soka Gakkai Mothers' Day, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda thanked the members for their dedicated efforts to spread trust and understanding of the SGI's activities for peace, culture and education in their respective communities and the world at large.

The boys and girls chorus opened the recital singing cheerful songs that brought smiles to the audience. The young women's Alegria dance group performed modern and traditional folk dances, while the Gloria Brass Band played heartfelt songs in appreciation for the "Mothers of the SGI." Some SGI-Panama members and their guests staged musical numbers on themes of love and friendship, such as "El amor que soñé (The Love of My Dreams)," "Contigo a la distancia (Together with You to a Distant Place)," and "Sabor a mí (The Essence of Me)."
