Anniversary of Second Soka Gakkai President's Death Commemorated

Soka Gakkai President Harada leads the service at the Soka Gakkai Headquarters

On and around April 2, 2007, Soka Gakkai commemorated the 49th anniversary of the death of second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda (1900-58) with memorial services at major culture and community centers throughout Japan.

On April 2, at Tokyo Makiguchi Memorial Hall, Hachioji, Tokyo, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda led a prayer in tribute to his mentor, who dedicated his life to humanity's happiness and the achievement of world peace through the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism.

At the Soka Gakkai Headquarters in Shinanomachi, Tokyo, Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada led the memorial service, with General Director Masaaki Masaki and men, women and youth representatives in attendance.
