SGI-Sri Lanka Holds Youth General Meeting

On March 18, 2007, SGI-Sri Lanka youth members held their fourth general meeting at the SGI-Sri Lanka Culture Center in Colombo. The meeting, attended by SGI members and their guests, began with SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's congratulatory message followed by a choral performance and local traditional dances. A young woman and young man shared their experiences of how they cultivated new friendships and built trust in their communities through applying the philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism. Participants joined in a discussion on social issues including family, work and education and the importance of each person challenging an inner transformation and tapping his or her potential to realize a peaceful society. SGI-Sri Lanka General Director Ranjith Rupasinghe reminded the young people that they will shoulder responsibility as future leaders and encouraged them to achieve their personal goals and dedicate themselves to others' happiness.
