SGI-Guatemala Commemorates 15th Anniversary
SGI-Guatemala members recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of the establishment of SGI-Guatemala chapter. Under the leadership of Chapter Leader Giovanna Porras, the Guatemalan members are actively contributing to their local communities as they challenge their own personal development. New chapter-level leaders recently appointed include: José Cifuentes--Men's Division Leader; Gonzalo del Cid--Vice Men's Division Leader; Brenda Loarca--Vice Women's Division Leader; Carlos Tizoc Zaragoza--Young Men's Division Leader; and Gislinde Cifuentes--Young Women's Division Leader. In a guidance advisory position, Rosina Famiglietti will provide support and encouragement to members in all divisions. Ms. Porras says that in Guatemala, where there still exists a wide gap between the haves and have nots, the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism has much to offer people in their efforts to find happiness and create value in their lives.
