SGI Associations in Poland, Costa Rica and Colombia Celebrate Anniversaries
During January 2007, SGI-Poland celebrated the 15th anniversary of the formation of its first chapter in January 1992 with meetings in various cities. SGI members living in or around Warsaw met on January 16; Krakow, on January 20, and Poznan, on January 25. Many young people attended the commemorative events, where representatives shared experiences of transforming and enriching their lives through the humanistic life philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism.
SGI-Costa Rica representatives met at their center on January 28 to celebrate the SGI's 32nd anniversary (January 26, 1975) and the 15th anniversary of the first SGI chapter in Costa Rica on February 5, 1992. New national leaders were announced.
On February 4, 100 SGI-Colombia members met to commemorate the 14th anniversary of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's first visit to Colombia. Participants heard a report on the recent Latin America study session with SGI Study Department Chief Katsuji Saito in Brazil. This was followed by a chronicle of the history of the development of SGI-Colombia.
