Women of SGI-Portugal Hold 4th General Meeting
On January 21, 2007, some 100 women from throughout the country gathered in Lisbon, the capital, for SGI-Portugal's 4th women's general meeting. The event featured eight women who gave personal accounts of surmounting problems and challenging their goals through the practical application of Nichiren Buddhism. Mayumi Yamaki shared her joy in establishing a harmonious relationship with her husband, who is now a sympathetic supporter of her Buddhist practice. Margarida Pimenta told how she summoned up hope and courage to face and overcome illness in her family. National women's leader Hiroko Azevedo encouraged the participants to help foster many capable people and to advance, with each individual deriving strength and inspiration from the encouragement of their mentor, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. SGI-Europe Vice Women's Leader Betty Mori congratulated the women on their general meeting and for their victories in life.
