SGI-Taiwan and SGI-South Korea Hold Buddhist Study Examinations
On January 7, 2007, SGI-Taiwan held a promotional exam on Nichiren Buddhism for those who previously passed the entrance-level study examination. Some 5,000 candidates sat for the exam at 31 venues, including one on Penghu Island.
On December 3, 2006, SGI-Korea conducted an intermediate-level study examination at 92 centers throughout the country. Over 8,000 candidates were tested on their knowledge of Nichiren's writing, "On the Buddha's Prophecy," and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's lectures on "The Opening of the Eyes," another of Nichiren's writings.
