SGI Associations in Oceania Celebrate the New Year

SGI-Australia members in Sydney

On January 1 and 2, 2007, SGI associations in seven countries and territories of Oceania held New Year's meetings at 16 venues with a total participation of 2,500.

In Australia, 1,500 SGI members celebrated the new year at five venues throughout the country on January 1. At the meeting in Sydney, five people officially joined SGI-Australia. In 2007, SGI-Australia will carry out activities with a focus on local discussion meetings with such themes as "Happiness for Oneself and Others," "Developing Friendships" and "A Life of Victory."

At the New Year's gathering in Tauranga District, New Zealand, 43 participated, including 23 guests.

SGI members also held New Year's meetings in New Caledonia, Palau, Fiji, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands.
