SGI Members in Austria and Eastern Europe Hold Combined Summer Study Session

Youngsters from SGI-Austria and Eastern Europe who shoulder the future take a large leap forward

From July 12-16, SGI-Austria and SGI members from Eastern Europe held a combined summer session at the SGI European Center in Trets, southern France. Some 170 members, hailing from Austria, Russia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia, gathered in high spirits with a theme of "Advancing Together with Our Mentor Aiming for Our Personal Human Revolution." Along with SGI-Eastern Europe Advisor Peter Kuehn, the participants studied SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's lecture on Nichiren's writing, "On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime." SGI-Austria General Director Yoshio Nakamura called on everyone to create value throughout their lives while aiming for human happiness and peace, transforming negative karma into mission with their practice of Nichiren Buddhism as a foundation. SGI-Europe Executive Advisor Shoichi Hasegawa encouraged all the SGI-Europe members to actively foster youth, for the sake of the future. On the final day, representatives shared their goals for their respective organizations.
