SGI Members in Togo, Kenya and Côte d'Ivoire, Africa, Respectively Kick Off 2006

SGI-Togo members across generations enjoy the meeting

On January 8, 2006, some 500 SGI-Togo members met in Lome, the capital of Togo. Youth leaders expressed their resolve to take the initiative in promoting the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism for the sake of people's happiness and the betterment of society. SGI-Kenya leaders met on January 15, in Nairobi. Some traveled hundreds of kilometers from Mombasa and Kisumu to attend the meeting. SGI-Kenya Headquarters Chief Philemon Banja called on everyone to further advance with unity, to establish lasting happiness in Kenyan society. SGI-Africa Chief Tadashi Minai attended both meetings. In Côte d'Ivoire, SGI-Côte d'Ivoire women representatives gathered for the fourth women's division leaders meeting on December 12, 2005, in Abidjan, the country's capital.
