SGI-Europe Members Meet for Summer Study in Trets, France

During July and August, SGI members in Europe met for their annual summer course at the SGI European Center in Trets, southern France. On August 18-23, some 150 members from 27 European countries gathered for a summer study session. SGI Study Department Chief Katsuji Saito, visiting from Japan, lectured on "The True Aspect of All Phenomena" and "The Heritage of the Ultimate Law of Life," from Nichiren's writings. Mr. Saito encouraged participants to lead victorious lives through courageously working on behalf of peace and the happiness of others. SGI-Austria and SGI-Belgium held their training sessions on July 14-18 and July 19-23, respectively. Participants held group discussions, a question and answer session, and experience-sharing.

On August 3-7, over 150 SGI youth from 18 European countries attended an SGI-Europe student division summer training course at the SGI European Center in Trets. Participants studied "The New Human Revolution" and "The World of Nichiren Daishonin's Writings--A Discussion on Humanistic Religion." SGI-Europe Youth Committee Chair Bertrand Rossignol (SGI-France Youth Division Chief) called on everyone to dedicate their lives to peace and justice in their respective countries with an awareness that they are the protagonists for change.
