Mineral Area College, USA, Awards Mrs. Kaneko Ikeda an Honorary Professorship

Mineral Area College (MAC), Missouri, USA, appointed Mrs. Kaneko Ikeda an honorary professor in humanities, in recognition of her contributions to people's happiness through her unparalleled support of her husband, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. Founded in 1922, MAC is the fourth oldest community college in Missouri. In February 2004, MAC presented Mr. Ikeda with an honorary professorship in humanities for his educational ideals and contributions. The conferral took place on June 6 at the Soka University central tower in Hachioji City, Tokyo. Attendees from MAC included President Terry L. Barnes and his wife, Virginia Barnes; Soka University President Masami Wakae; Soka Women's College President Katsuhiko Fukushima; and SGI-USA representatives. Mr. Wakae received a certificate from Mr. Barnes, on behalf of Mrs. Ikeda, and conveyed her words of appreciation for the honor. At the same venue, Mr. Barnes received Soka University's Soka Friendship Award from the student body.
