Soka Gakkai Holds Memorial Services for Victims of the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake

Soka Gakkai members in Kansai meet at the Hyogo Culture Center for memorial service

On January 17, the 10th anniversary of the Great Hanshin Earthquake, Soka Gakkai held memorial services at the Kansai Culture Center in Osaka City and nine other centers throughout Hyogo Prefecture. In a solemn ceremony, friends and relatives prayed for the repose of those who died in the quake. SGI President Daisaku Ikeda sent a heart-warming, in-depth message. Soka Gakkai Kansai Advisor Ryozo Nishiguchi led the service at the Hyogo Culture Center in Kobe City. Following a representative's experience of overcoming suffering and hardships resulting from the tragic event, Mr. Nishiguchi called on everyone to advance together for the sake of their families and neighbors in their local communities.
