SGI-Haiti and Dominican Republic Members Gather to Celebrate New Departure
On January 14, SGI-Haiti members, together with members from the Dominican Republic, held a meeting in Port-au-Prince to celebrate the New Year.
SGI President Daisaku Ikeda sent a message for this occasion, commending the efforts of all those who have been working tirelessly to contribute to their community, especially following the devastation caused by the 2010 earthquake in Haiti which affected 3.7 million people. Sharing the Buddhist concept of "turing poison into medicine," Mr. Ikeda encouraged members to value patience and to become symbols of hope in their respective areas.
