SGI-Cambodia Youth Host Seminar for High School Students

On May 28, 2010, SGI-Cambodia youth members sponsored a seminar titled "I Have A Mission" at a high school in Kandal Province. The seminar, based on SGI's core activities of promoting peace, culture and education, is the fourth of its kind to be held by SGI-Cambodia. Approximately 200 students and teachers participated.

SGI-Cambodia General Director Pang Vandeth attended the seminar and introduced SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's humanistic philosophy, which teaches that every individual is an irreplaceable treasure and has a unique mission or purpose in life. Mr. Vandeth also spoke about the importance of study and the value of friendship.

A question and answer session was held during which students were able to deepen their understanding and appreciation of their valuable roles in society and the importance of education. Following the event, students shared their impression and commented that the seminar provided them with hope and courage to face their personal challenges.
