Soka Gakkai Education Counseling Centers Hold Conference
On February 11, 2010, the Soka Gakkai Educational Counseling Center (SGECC) of the Soka Gakkai Education Department held a conference at the Shinanomachi Culture Center in Tokyo, Japan.
At the conference, Yoshinori Ito, Shinsaku Ohira and Shige Yamaguchi were newly appointed as directors of respective SGECC centers in Matsudo, Chiba and Tokyo. Yukio Usuda was appointed executive director of SGECC.
Junji Machida, SGECC director, spoke about SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's dedication to encourage young children to lead meaningful, happy lives, and expressed his personal determination to make the same dedicated effort. Soka Gakkai Education Department Chief Hajime Miyamoto and Soka Gakkai General Director Masaaki Masaki also attended and spoke at the conference.
In 1968, SGECC was established by the Soka Gakkai Education Department, which now operates 34 counseling centers throughout Japan. Approximately 350,000 people have taken advantage of the services the centers offer since the first center was opened.
