SGI-Korea Educators Meet throughout South Korea
On January 24, 2010, the SGI-Korea Educator's Group held meetings for its members at five venues throughout South Korea. Participants exchanged reports on practical applications of humanistic education within their classrooms. One meeting took place at the SGI-Korea headquarters building in Seoul at which some 600 gathered from surrounding cities, including Kyonggi, Icheon, Chungcheong and Kangwon.
At the Seoul meeting, representative teachers from a kindergarten, junior high school and college, respectively, spoke about their experiences as educators and the various teaching methods employed within their classrooms. A presentation on SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's education proposal written in 2002 followed the speakers.
SGI-Korea Vice General Director Woo Taik Duek also attended the same meeting and encouraged participants to stand at the forefront of applying humanistic education and working for the sake of children's happiness.
