Santa Cruz State Board of Education, Bolivia, Confers Education Contribution Award
Over the years, SGI-Bolivia has conducted youth education seminars at local high schools and other venues at the request of the Santa Cruz State Board of Education. The seminars have been highly appreciated by those involved in education. Students of many schools also visited the "Nuclear Arms: Threat to Our World" exhibition and other peace events in Santa Cruz State, which SGI-Bolivia has hosted.
Recently, "Building a Culture of Peace for the Children of the World" has been exhibited at Santa Cruz City Public Library for almost three weeks until April 4, 2009. About 10,000 local residents, including students from some 100 schools in Santa Cruz State, saw the exhibition. One of the visitors commented "A change in a single person will help achieve a change in society. This philosophy of human revolution is a guiding principle that I have been looking for."
In recognition of these efforts, Santa Cruz State Board of Education, Republic of Bolivia, presented an education contribution award to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. The conferral took place on April 4, during the exhibition's closing ceremony.
