Government Selects SGI-Taiwan's Monthly Periodical for Young Children as Recommended Reading
The Taiwan Government Information Office (GIO) recently selected Soka Youth, a monthly magazine for young people published by SGI-Taiwan's Cheng Yin Culture Enterprise Co., Ltd., for inclusion in its 27th excellent extracurricular reading list for elementary and junior high school students. Every year, the GIO sponsors a program to encourage good reading habits among young people. Out of 1,324 books reviewed, Soka Youth was chosen in the periodical category along with other magazines that enjoy outstanding name recognition and a long history in Taiwan. The GIO reported that the SGI-Taiwan monthly covers wide-ranging topics such as literature, the arts, and lifestyles, that contribute to cultivating sound character in young people. The GIO also stated that the magazine appeals to both children and parents and presents positive values.
Soka Youth introduces SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's stories for children as well as activities and achievements by SGI-Taiwan's most youthful members. This is the third time in four years the GIO has chosen the magazine, since its debut in 2002.
