On May 13, SGI-Spain hosted a music festival featuring a range of performances from Spanish dance, opera vignettes, theatrical skits, piano pieces to poetry at the SGI-Spain Culture Center in Rivas-Vaciamadrid. A young actress also spoke about how her Buddhist practice has helped her to build a stronger sense of self so she is a protagonist for change in her environment and no longer swayed by challenges.

SGI-Spain General Director Enrique Caputo then introduced SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's efforts over many years to promote cultural exchange around the world for the purpose of building a culture of peace. Mr. Caputo commented that SGI members are also now proud to be actively engaged in establishing heart-to-heart ties between people through the promotion of culture and the arts.
