Collected Paintings of Liu Yu Shown at Taiwan Soka Association Headquarters

The opening ceremony for an exhibition of the collected paintings of the renowned Taiwanese painter Liu Yu took place at Taiwan Soka Association's (TSA) headquarters, Zhi Shan Culture Center, in Taipei on January 15. More than 30 students and friends of Professor Liu attended the opening ceremony.

Professor Liu was born in Jilin, China, in 1919. His works have been exhibited in the United States, Japan and South Korea to promote international cultural exchange. Commenting on his first solo exhibition, Professor Liu thanked TSA for giving him the opportunity to hold the retrospective exhibition. 

Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Honorary Professor Wang Hsiu-Hsiung of National Taiwan Normal University; Vice Chairman Lin Chen-Chang of the National Youth Commission; President Lin Chin-Chung of the Fine Art College, National Taiwan University of Art; and Director Wu Long-Rong of Tai-Yang Art Society.

Mr. Lin Chen-Chang thanked TSA for its efforts to promote the arts and culture within the community, stating this was "a truly noble task."
