3, 500 SGI-Hong Kong Youth Perform in Culture Festival
From January 29-30, SGI-Hong Kong held a culture festival at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. Guests totaled 30,000 and included Jao Tsung-I, emeritus professor of Chinese Language and Literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Yang Wu, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangzhou Municipality and representatives from universities in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
Soka Gakkai Vice President Hiromasa Ikeda attended the festival on January 30, along with SGI-Hong Kong General Director John Ng Chor Yuk.
Over the two day period, some 3,500 SGI-Hong Kong young men and women put on 15 performances, showcasing hip-hop and folk dances. SGI-Hong Kong's Cosmic Brass Band, Bauhinia Fife-and-Drum Corps and Men and Women's chorus groups were also part of the festival.
