SGI-Brazil Brass Bands and Fife-and-Drum Corps Celebrate Brazil Independence Day

To commemorate Brazil's Independence Day, SGI-Brazil's young men's Taiyo (Sun) Brass Band and young women's Nova Era (New Era) Fife-and-Drum Corps participated in parades throughout the country on September 7.

Belem, Ribeirão Preto, Porto Alegre, Angra dos Reis, São Paulo, Campinas and Londrina were among the 17 cities in which the Brass Band performed, while the Fife-and-Drum Corps marched in 19 cities. Some 2,000 SGI-Brazil young people performed in the Independence Day events, which were attended by some 200,000.
