Over two days on November 20 and 21, SGI-Panama members put on a culture festival celebrating the 80th anniversary of Soka Gakkai's founding, at the SGI-Panama Culture Center in Panama City. Some 2,400 gathered from surrounding provinces such as Chiriquí and Veragaus and from the city of Colón. The festival depicted the stories of Soka Gakkai's three founding presidents. Also featured were dance and music performances by the youth.

On November 28, SGI-Chile held a culture festival in Santiago attended by 1,200 from 23 cities throughout Chile. Guests included Rector Ángel Maulén Ríos of Pedro de Valdivia University as well as artist Alejandro Ortega and his wife. Performances showcased a spirit of advancing in life with hope and strong determination for the sake of creating lasting peace.
