SGI-Kenya Youth Organize Community Festival
On March 21, 2010, SGI-Kenya youth members in Nairobi organized a community friendship festival at a public venue in the city.
The event included performances by SGI youth along with young people from local cultural and educational organizations. The festivities, which included dancing, singing and drumming, lasted over two hours and were greeted by much applause from the audience.
Coinciding with the day's events was an exhibition showcasing SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and SGI-Kenya's various activities for advancing peace, culture and education. SGI-Kenya young men have been active, over the years, in community clean-up endeavors as well as tree plantings. Visitors expressed appreciation for SGI-Kenya's youth members' efforts toward bettering society through the promotion of dialogue, culture and community.
