On February 7, 2010, SGI-Korea young women's Culture Department held a festival at the SGI-Korea headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Including families and friends, some 400 attended the event.

A number of performing groups make up the Culture Department, the SGI-Korea Arirang Fife-and-Drum Corps and Puroonvit Chorus, which won gold in the folk song category at the World Choir Championships last year. The festival showcased performances from these groups as well as the Victoria Marching Band.

Kim Hyun Hee's appointment as the new overseer of the Culture Department was announced. SGI-Korea Young Women's Leader Kim Min Kyung expressed her hope that each young woman in the Culture Department would be a source of encouragement through her cultural activities and in her daily life.
