Through art and cultural exchange, the exhibition organizers hope to deepen friendships, strengthen collaborations and further mutual understanding of different cultures.

On hand to officiate at opening was Teng Chang Khim, speaker of Selangor State Legislative Assembly. In his remarks, Mr. Teng lauded the organizers' persistence for 40 years to maintain the exhibition. He also spoke about the importance of not letting industrialization and the ups and downs of a country's economy squelch spiritual growth and how such exhibitions contribute to enriching the lives of Malaysians.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a series of art talks were held on art education and children's art in Malaysia.
