On September 26, 2009, the SGI-Bolivia Fife-and-Drum Corps held a festival commemorating the 45th anniversary of its establishment. Formed in 1964, the Fife-and-Drum Corps began with 17 members and has now grown to a membership of 200. The music corps performs at events and ceremonies throughout Bolivia and South America.

At the festival, former members of the Fife-and-Drum Corps were invited to perform together with current members. The first half of the performance consisted of baton and flute performances. A dance number by members from the Departments of Oruro and Beni made up the second half. SGI-Bolivia General Director Katsuo Takeno attended the event as well as approximately 1,500 participants.
