Exhibition Commemorating the Late Princess Galyani, Sister of Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Held in Thailand

From May 4-13, 2009, an exhibition commemorating the late Princess Galyani Vadhana took place in Bangkok, Thailand. Soka Gakkai Thailand (SGT) supported the exhibition at the invitation of the Thai Ministry of Culture. Princess Galyani, who passed away in January 2008, and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda had met on two occasions in Bangkok and Tokyo, Japan, and spoke about the further development of friendship between Japan and Thailand.

SGT representatives including SGT Executive Chair Somsak Likitjariyanon and General Director Naravat Chinomi attended the exhibition's official opening. On May 10, SGT's Kangsadan Chorus performed in honor of the late Princess Galyani.

On June 5, the exhibition also opened in Pattani, located in southern Thailand. SGT representatives and other guests attended the opening together with Former Prime Minister of Thailand Chuan Leekpai.
