SGI-Brazil Fife-and-Drum Corps Commended

SGI-Brazil (BSGI) young women's Nova Era (New Age) Fife-and-Drum Corps received certificates of commendation from the legislative assembly of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, and city assembly of Campo Grande, State of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, respectively.

In celebration of the Nova Era Fife-and-Drum Corps' 20th anniversary in the BSGI's Campo Grande Region, both state and city assemblies passed resolutions commending the corps' contributions to spread a "culture of peace" through music.

The conferral took place on March 22, 2009, in Campo Grande City. The certificate of commendation states, "Nova Era Fife-and-Drum Corps aims to convey peace and hope to the people through music and cultivates a philosophy that teaches each person is able to contribute to building humanistic society based on culture and education."
