On February 3, 2009, Dr. Charles Brempong-Yeboah, ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Japan, visited Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada at the Seikyo Press building in Shinanomachi, Tokyo. Ambassador Brempong-Yeboah reminisced about his days as a student in Japan and expressed his hope to continue to cooperate with the SGI in developing friendship between Ghana and Japan. Mr. Harada remarked on the recent expansion of bilateral cultural and educational exchanges between Ghana and Japan, and referred to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's actions that have helped to pave the way for friendship between the two countries, based on his conviction that the 21st century would become the "Century of Africa." Godfred Mensah Habada, second secretary of the embassy, also attended the meeting.
