Chinese Academy's Institute of Poetry Studies, Chinese Poets Society, Soochow University’s Chinese Literature Department and TSA cohosted the event, which aimed to encourage the study, promotion and revitalization of Chinese poetry. Ten poets from Jiangnan, China, led by Deputy Dean of the College of Humanities at Zhejiang University Liao Kebin, were invited to attend the seminar. More than ten academic papers were presented.

On the following day, the delegation of Chinese poets visited TSA headquarters in Taipei. TSA General Director Lin Chao and Honorary Director Chu Wan Li, who is also the honorary president of Chinese Poets Society in Taiwan, welcomed the group. Professor Liao expressed his sincere gratitude to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and TSA for their ongoing contributions to exchanges of culture, peace and education between China and Taiwan. He stated that he hoped to have more opportunities to cooperate further with TSA in reinvigorating Chinese poetry.
