SGI-Korea and SGI-Taiwan Fife-and-Drum Corps Participate in International Festivals

The Arirang Fife-and-Drum Corps, SGI-Korea's young women's band, was one of 13 groups from ten countries invited to perform at the 7th annual Gangneung International Junior Art Festival in Gangneung City, Gangwon Province, South Korea. The festival, held this year from August 2-5, 2008, was initiated seven years ago and brings together young musicians and dancers from throughout the world to foster intercultural understanding. The 60-member Arirang Fife-and-Drum Corps played "March Toward the 21st Century" in a Gangneung City parade that launched the festival and performed at the festival's opening show. The SGI-Korea band has been invited to participate in the event for five consecutive years.
