SGI-Germany Sponsors International Children's Art Exhibition

From June 1-30, 2007, SGI-Germany sponsored the SGI's "World Boys and Girls Art Exhibition" at Mörfelden-Walldorf City Hall in western Germany. The first floor displayed 89 drawings and paintings by schoolchildren from nearby kindergartens and schools, while the second floor displayed 60 works by children from around the world. Related activities such as a Children's Cultural Fest were planned for children's enjoyment, and the exhibition was well received by the local residents. Five local newspapers covered the event.

Renate Schellhaas of the German Committee for UNICEF and mayor-elect Heinz-Peter Becker were among the guests at the June 1 opening. In his congratulatory remarks, Mr. Becker said that adults viewing the exhibition of children's art carrying messages of their hopes and dreams, would surely feel the weight of their responsibility for realizing a society that fulfilled their aspirations.
