SGI-Hong Kong Hosts Art Exhibition and Lecture
On June 8, an exhibition of Chinese paintings by Su Dongtian opened at the SGI-Hong Kong Culture Center in Hong Kong. Mr. Su is professor emeritus at Shenzhen University of China and renowned for his masterpieces depicting plum blossoms. The event was sponsored by SGI-Hong Kong and supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. The exhibition runs through June 18, 2006.
On May 25, SGI-Hong Kong hosted a public lecture on culture and arts, by renowned stage actor Jiang Yi, who has recently completed his 50th year of acting in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. Some 1,700 gathered at the SGI-Hong Kong Culture Center. He stated that art has no meaning without the human being. Actors and actresses should be steadfast in their tenacity of purpose and make untiring efforts, so that their performances will be eternally beloved by many.
