Hiroshima Study Lectures Exceed 150
Since 1989, youth members of Soka Gakkai Hiroshima have organized a Hiroshima Study Lecture Series for the public, inviting various leaders in the field of peace and disarmament worldwide, including hibakusha (A-bomb victims), as guest speakers. Soka Gakkai Relief Efforts in Response to Kyushu Floods
At the start of July, the southwestern island of Kyushu in Japan experienced record downpours which caused torrential floods and landslides, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes. Soka Gakkai centers throughout the central Kyushu prefectures, such as Kumamoto, Fukuoka, Oita and Saga, were used as emergency communication centers to provide emergency relief aid and shelter to evacuees. ... read more
