In his 2015 Peace Proposal, Daisaku Ikeda discusses three priority themes in support of new UN goals expressing a commitment to protecting the dignity of all people without exception. (1) rehumanization of politics and economics, (2) a chain reaction of empowerment, and (3) the expansion of friendship across differences to build a world of coexistence. About (3), Ikeda comments: Expanding human solidarity based on a shared concern for the threats faced by all of us holds the key to the alleviation of human suffering. For that, he believes what people can do is generate a broader network of friendship through dialogue.
