Stories and reflections on the Buddhist approach to life
On October 25, an SGI-Chile Women’s General Meeting was held in Santiago, Chile. The meeting brought together some 1,000 women of all ages from throughout the nation. Guests included Marion Kappeyne van de Coppello, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Chile.
The theme of the meeting, “Let Us Illuminate Society with Buddhist Humanism,” was expressed through a performance by the fife-and-drum corps, dances by young women and songs from a women’s choir. At the meeting, a video message from Senator Isabel Allende Bussi, daughter of the late president Salvador Allende, was also shown.
The following day, October 26, exchange meetings were organized by SGI-Chile members from Santiago to welcome their fellow members from other regions and provide an opportunity for dialogue.
