On August 11, in celebration of its 46th anniversary, Singapore Soka Association (SSA) held a "Family Fun Day" at its headquarters and at the Senja Soka Centre, bringing together some 8,200 people, including SSA members, their families, friends and local residents.

The event featured activities that the whole family could enjoy, including workshops, games, food stalls, balloon sculptures, body painting and magic shows, handicrafts, storytelling, manicures, massages and performances by SSA cultural groups. There was also a fashion show, a family photo booth and the sharing of faith-based experiences by SSA members.

In partnership with Mercy Relief, a donation drive was also held at the fun day to raise funds for victims of the earthquakes that struck Gansu Province, China, on July 22.

Prior to the event, on the evening of August 10, talks were organized at both centers for those interested in learning more about Nichiren Buddhism and SSA activities.

SSA's Family Fun Day is an annual event based on one of the eternal guidelines of the Soka Gakkai, "Faith for a Harmonious Family."
