On May 15, SGI-Spain hosted an arts festival at its culture center in Rivas-Vaciamadrid aimed at deepening friendship with the local community. The festival featured performances ranging from Spanish dance, opera vignettes and theatrical skits to piano pieces and poetry. Some 350 people attended the two shows, including Raúl Sánchez, a member of the Rivas-Vaciamadrid City Council.

SGI-Spain General Director Enrique Caputo opened the festival by sharing SGI's belief in the power of art and culture to bring people together and generate a global tide for peace. He also cited SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's description of culture as the blossoming of the human spirit.
