| Bharat (India) Soka Gakkai Leaders Meet in New Delhi for Training Course |
On January 20, 2008, some 1,000 Bharat (India) Soka Gakkai (BSG) leaders attended a training course at the Soka Bodhi Tree Garden in a suburb of New Delhi. SGI General Director Yoshitaka Ohba and SGI Women's Leader Kayoko Asano headed an SGI delegation visiting from Japan.

On the occasion, Anuvrat Global Organisation (ANUVIBHA) and Rajasthan Patrika Ltd. of Jaipur, Rajasthan State in northwestern India, presented commendations to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda in celebration of his 80th birthday. The honors recognized Mr. Ikeda's ongoing commitment to and achievements for peace, education and the environment. Another ceremony took place in Jaipur on January 23. ANUVIBHA Honorary President Dr. S. L. Gandhi attended both events. Dr. Gulab Kothari, managing director and editor of Rajasthan Patrika Ltd., attended the conferral in Jaipur, together with some 200 guests. SGI representatives received the commendation plaques on Mr. Ikeda's behalf.
[ANUVIBHA was established in 1983 to promote peace, education and cultural development through nonviolence. In 1988, the center presented Mr. Ikeda with the Anuvrat Award for International Peace. Rajasthan Patrika Ltd. is one of the top Hindi language daily newspaper companies which has a circulation of about 11.5 million in major Indian cities.]
