| New SGI Culture Center Opens in Davao City, Philippines |
On January 20, 2008, the new SGI-Philippines Davao Culture Center opened in Davao City, the largest city on Mindanao Island in the Philippines. The SGI organization in southern Mindanao began with just a few individuals 40 years ago and has now grown into three chapters and one general chapter. Local SGI members worked together with builders in a spirit of bayanihan (unity and mutual support in Tagalog) to construct the new center.
