On February 18, 2007, SGI-Romania members celebrated the establishment of their first district at a home in Bucharest. Located in Southeastern Europe, Romania borders Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the northeast, and Bulgaria to the south. Around 30 members gathered from around the country to celebrate the event with their new district leader, Paolo Dall'Ara, with some traveling as far as 400 kilometers. SGI-Europe Vice Chair Peter Kühn shared a congratulatory message from SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. Mr. dall'Ara expressed his hopes to strive together with everyone to expand friendship and trust in the local community.
