| 27,000 Gather for Chapter Meetings in India |
From May 6 to May 14, Bharat (India) Soka Gakkai (BSG) held chapter general meetings at 200 venues in 150 cities throughout India. Some 27,000 BSG members and their families and friends gathered. The meetings commemorated the 45th anniversary of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's first visit to India in 1961. At each meeting, representatives shared experiences of their Buddhist practice and future division members presented dramatic performances and songs.
